As you may have guessed, I am a big believer in the principal of karma, rule of three or what goes around comes around. We reap what we sew.
I am also abundantly blessed and even though I bitched about my retirement plan taking a big hit last quarter, I have not had to skip any meals in these troubled times. Never the less, a few months ago, after estimating that my Starbucks habit was costing nearly $100/month, I decided to brew my own and donate the $100 per month to Hawk's local food pantry. I considered it a karmic investment and the Lakota ARE missing meals.
Fast Foreword to my b-day yesterday. My co-worker Julie comes into my office with a large cardboard box (and cupcakes) "Happy Birthday! I found this at my church's garage sale and had noticed that you weren't drinking Starbucks anymore. so..." Inside the box was a Starbuck's professional barista machine.
Now I owe the universe another flavor
happy belated birthday!
I am a regular contributor to philabundance, a local organization that collects unused food from restaurants and parties and grocery stores for philly's hungry. and we have plenty of hungry people, not only in the city, but in the burbs too.
OBAMA 08! I voted, and I hope you did too!

Happy Birthday! Julie rocks. That's a mighty fine gift.
Now, to watch the election returns and see if your other birthday wish comes true...
